Kyu Test IKO Matsushima Italy – Shihan Casto Samuele
On Sunday, November 18, 2011 the Kyu Test by IKO Matsushima Italy(I.K.K.O.) was held.
The ‘examination started at 15.30 and ended at 19.30 engaging about 100 athletes in various tests of physical strength, knowledge of technical and free fighting.
The tests involving athletes from the various Dojo Ikko. The Kyu Test were directed by Shihan Casto S. and Sensei Bovino L.

In 14th November 2011year, sponsored by Armenian Olimpic committee, took place a martial arts festival, where have been participated 10 martial arts federations Wushu, Aiki-do, Taiwon-do, Ku-do, Jeet kun-do,KYOKUSHINKAI KARATE was represented by Oyama Kyokushinkai karate Armenian federation’s Sensai Karen Zhamkochyan. Ceremonial opening has been done by Olimpic committee president Gagik Carukyan.

On 3 December I held our regular black belts’ seminar in Miskolc. We usually have 3 training like this yearly with a high number of participants. This time there were 64 black belts training together. This seminar is compulsory for all who hold a dan rank and is recommended for all 1st kyu holders who plan to take their dan test in the near future. We practiced basic budo techniques, did a lot of kihon and kata during the 2.5 hours.

On november 9-10, 2011 at Kholkin Dojo (Novosibirsk) dan test took place.
Karatekas from Russia and Kazakhstan participated in it. Dan test lasted for 6 hours. 30 kumite and knowing every IKO Matsushima kata were mandatory for
everyone. Students from my dojo have passed this test as well to prove their
spirits. I would like to mention everyone’s high morale, strength and
stamina. Good enough kumite, kihon and kata techniques.

1000 BOARD BREAK
Kyokushin karate is well known for its strength and discipline; full-contact fighting, a punishing training regimen and the ability to punch and kick their way through boards. Portland Dojo was called upon for a display of strength recently to assist one of their junior members who has multiple inoperable brain tumours. Eleven year old Abigael Therrien’s greatest wish was to go to Disneyland, and the Victorian Branch of the Australian Kyokushin Karate Association was going to do everything in its power to make that happen.

Swaziland had a National tournament on July 9th, Gashku on August 27th, Dan and kyu grading in November 25 and 26th. These events are amongst other events that the Swaziland Martial Arts Federation hosted during 2011. We had 29 participants for dan grading and we are in the process of registering them accordingly with Honbu. 64 participants took part in the kyu grading. The standard was high and artists displayed high standard of discipline, skill and fitness.

The 1st I.K.O.MATSUSHIMA Youth Open Kyokushin Karate Tournament was held in Krasnoyarsk,Russia.
The 1st I.K.O.MATSUSHIMA Youth Open Kyokushin Karate Tournament(Matsushima Cup 2011)
was held in Krasnoyarsk,Russia on 26,27th Nov.2011.
254 attendees took part from 4 region(Uyar,Kansk<Krasnoyarsk,Novosibirsk.

After the 7th IKO Matsushima European Championship and seminar in Eger, Hungary, Kancho Yoshikazu Matsushima and Hanshi John Taylor visited Croatia and they held seminar in Samobor.
Seminar was consisted of two trainings for members of IKO Matsushima Croatia and for 8 guest members of IKO Matsushima Serbia lead by Sempai Vojkan Bižić.
After the seminar, Kancho Matsushima, Mrs. Mikiko and Hanshi Taylor looked around Samobor and visited Zadar on the Adriatic cost.
On the return to Samobor, they visited the Plitvice Lakes National Park, located in the middle of the road which passes through the national park area, connects the Croatian inland with the Mediterranean coastal region.
