On Saturday, May 31st, our Matsushima Northern Zone Karate organization held a Kyu Test at the facilities of Eagles College, Iquique – Chile, where more than 35 students — including children, youth, and adults — were evaluated. Over the course of more than five hours, all participants underwent various physical and technical tests, in accordance with our Matsushima karate program, demonstrating great spirit characteristic of our Kyokushin Karate.

Summer Camp was held in the town of Hualpin, a Mapuche Community of Puyehue lagoon around 705 kms south of Santiago, where associated dojos from all over the country enthusiastically participated. The summer camp was held on February 21 – 22 and 23, 2025.
This activity was programmed by senpai Salvador Manquepil and Senpai Julio Blanco, both belonging to the Mapuche people.
In sacred Mapuche land, we could feel and experience the real spirit of our beloved Kyokushin Karate.
Throughout the three days of this camp, we also evaluated kyu belt exam, going through our whole IKO Matsushima Chile programme.

The I.K.O. Matsushima Kyokushin Karate Indian Summer Training Camp –2025 was held from May 20th to May 24th, 2025, in New Digha, under the esteemed presence of European Chairman Shihan Klaus Rex,along with two-time World Champion from Ukraine, Sensei Maksym Maksymov.
The camp was proudly attended by participants from the Indian states of Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal, reflecting a spirit of national collaboration and unity.
Hosted by Shihan Bejoy Kr. Dhara, this year’s Indian Summer Camp welcomed approximately 130 students from across India, who came together to train and cherish the experience of being under the guidance of such honorable and well known Karateka’s.

On May 17, a new mass karate class was held at Playa Brava in Iquique, Chile, bringing together students and instructors in a powerful display of unity and discipline.
The event featured the participation of dojos from IKO Matsushima Northern Zone, along with students from the extracurricular workshops where Kyokushin Karate is taught in various schools throughout our city.
This mass class was held with a clear purpose: to prepare students for the upcoming belt grading exam, scheduled for Saturday, May 31. It was an inspiring morning of focused training, shared learning, and Kyokushin spirit.

On April 26, the First Youth and Children’s Karate Tournament was successfully held, organized by IKO Matsushima Northern Zone in Iquique- Chile
This event brought together participants from the Saiha, Garyu, and Seihin Dojos from IKO Matsushima Northern Zone, along with invited dojos from across the region.
The tournament featured two competitive disciplines: Kumite and Kata , with nearly 50 young athletes aged 6 to 17 showcasing their skills and dedication.
Over the course of nearly four hours, these young karatekas demonstrated the true spirit of our martial art—effort, discipline, and perseverance—in every match and performance.
