2014 IKO Matsushima Kyokushin Challenge Open Tournament, held in Renton, Washington, USA on April 5th. We had 68 fighters between kids semi-contact and adult full-contact knockdown fighting. We also had a kata competition for the first time, with a total of 25 competitors split between novice and experienced karateka. We had great support from our own Kyokushin dojos, as well as other dojos from around Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Nevada. We were happy to be able to bring Shihan Roman out this year for the tournament, and are looking forward to his seminar tomorrow as well. Overall we had strong fighting and kata, and we are optimistic about the opportunity to grow the tournament in the future.
