The 5th I.K.O.MATSUSHIMA WORLD OPEN KYOKUSHIN KARATE TOURNAMENT & WORLD OPEN WOMEN WEIGHT KYOKUSHIN KARATE TOURNAMENT will be held on 26th,27th Nov.2016 in Maebashi, Gumma Japan.
At the press meeting in Maebashi City Hall on 9th Nov.2015, the Mayor of Maebashi;Mr.Ryu Yamamoto announced to news media that Maebashi City will support these International events.
“Maebashi Sport Commission” was just established for making active Maebashi through sport events on April 2015. These 5th World Kyokushin Karate Tournament were authorized with first international events by “Maebashi Sport Commission”. I’m very proud to organize these International Karate Championships in Maebashi.

This matter was announced at the International Meeting of European Championships on 16th Oct.2015 gladly.

Maebashi City aims to be a pre-games training camp for the international athletes joining to the 2019 Rugby World Cup and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. The reconstruction of Maebashi Municipal Sports Center will be finished on Mar.2016. I’m very honored to organize these big events in Maebashi. I hope that many people will attend at & enjoy these championships in Maebashi.
