Summer Camp was held in Hualpin,Chile on 21~23rd Feb.
Summer Camp was held in the town of Hualpin, a Mapuche Community of Puyehue lagoon around 705 kms south of Santiago, where associated dojos from all over the country enthusiastically participated. The summer camp was held on February 21 – 22 and 23, 2025.
This activity was programmed by senpai Salvador Manquepil and Senpai Julio Blanco, both belonging to the Mapuche people.
In sacred Mapuche land, we could feel and experience the real spirit of our beloved Kyokushin Karate.
Throughout the three days of this camp, we also evaluated kyu belt exam, going through our whole IKO Matsushima Chile programme.
Every day we had different planned activities.
Day 1, February 21st, reception of different dojos arriving from different parts of the country. The organizing team, actively planned to get all participants arrive to Puyehue, which is the beach site where the camp was held. Some others drove straight from their home towns.
After everyone was settled, we had an opening training class at 7pm.
Day 2, February 22nd, we started off the day with a training class at 7am. and after that we had two more training sessions as the day went through.
Parents from La AraucanÃa Dojo, organized breakfast, lunch and supper, so food was provided for all participants. The parents commitment to supply meals was absolutely outstanding.
Day 3, We started the day with a training session at 8:30 am. Nature was an incredible motivator. Students who were taking their belt tests remained next to the lagoon, to carry on with their technical and kumite exam. The rest of students went off to the seashore nearby to check the Kata Matsushima programme according to grades.
