On 23rd,24th June 2012 only once every four years, the 4th I.K.O.MATSUSHIMA World Open Kyokushin Karate Tournament and the 4th I.K.O.MATSUSHIMA World Open Women Weight Kyokushin Karate Tournament was successfully held at Isesaki Citizen Gymnasium in Gumma Pref.

President Matsushima speeched “The objective is to contribute to society and cultivate youth through the Kyokushin Karate. Through our operation we will deepen international communication and ties,and contribute to world peace through the promotion of mutual understanding and friendship regardless of race,religion or beliefs. Our purpose is to seek for dignified Budo Karate Spirit.”Tatsuya Katakai represents an oath of a fighters’ spirit to start the tournament.
In between the fightes,there were demonstrations by children,females,black belts with “Kama-Nuncyaku,Nuncyakyu,Tonfa,Sai , Stick ,Earthen pipe ,Bat and Ice etc”were impressed by the whole audience.
At former tournaments only Iran and Russia made impression their strength. Now there is no gap between other countries. Imed Souii(Tunisia) showed his power. Kun Liu(China) got prize. Sergey Doronin (Ukraine) who isn’t big man has been won a prize at International Championships and lost prize
Ribya ,Afghanistan and Nepal could attend at International Championships at first time. It is good news.
