Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation has held two tournaments in town Brovary on May 23rd, 2015: Ukrainian championship among men and women and All-Ukrainian championship among youth and juniors. Main judge of the competition was head of board of Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation, branch chief Shihan Dmytro Volynets (5th dan).
About 100 sportsmen from 8 regions of Ukraine took part in the competition. There was only one tatami with two teams of judges and three referees, namely Shihan Ivan Zvizdun (5th dan, Dniprodzerzhinsk), Sensei Evgeniy Zapara (4th dan, Sloviansk) and Sensei Dmytro Golovin (3rd dan, Dnipropetrovsk).
There were 5 categories for adults and 12 categories for juniors. Fights couldn’t go without some injuries, but all of them were very spectacular. All fighters have shown high trainings and performance level. In this regard Sensei Andriy Gavrylyuk has remarked: “Everyone, who is stepping on the tatami, is already a winner. Quite a few men are brave enough for fight, where they have to endure hits of their opponents and show their own techniques”. Andriy Gavrylyuk is head of Kyiv regional organization of our Federation and one of the direct organizers of the tournament.
All the winners were rewarded with medals, cups and certificates. Organizers have also rewarded one fighter for the best techniques and two sportsmen for the will to win. Shihan Ivan Zvizdun has also received a reward for best judging.
