This tournament was organizad by Sensei Gabriela Gonzalez and Sensei Gonzalo Valderrama, plus the outstanding assistance of Senpai Angel Herrera. This tournament was held in Coliseo Municipal de La Serena. It’s located 474 kilometers north of Santiago.
La Serena Tournament, cheered with great energy more than 200 participants. With a total of 17 schools invited, Dojos from different parts of the country traveled many hours to be part of this great event.
The tournament began at 9am and moved quickly to Kata competition in all different categories. After kaka competition award ceremony followed and dojo parade was held proudly. After schools and participants, prepared for Kumite competition and finally Kumite competition award ceremony was held. Referee performance was impecable.
The tournament came to an end at around 8 pm, almost 12 hours of great performance and incredible Kime in all competitions, I.K.O. Matsushima, once again, set a very high standard of Kyokushin Karate in regional events!

This event brought together participants from the Saiha, Garyu, and Seihin Dojos from IKO Matsushima Northern Zone, along with invited dojos from across the region.
The tournament featured two competitive disciplines: Kumite and Kata , with nearly 50 young athletes aged 6 to 17 showcasing their skills and dedication.
Over the course of nearly four hours, these young karatekas demonstrated the true spirit of our martial art—effort, discipline, and perseverance—in every match and performance.
