“Matsushima Cup-2015″was held in Ekaterinburg Russia on 2～5th May 2015.

On Saturday 9th May British Karate Kyokushinkai organized 2015 English Open Knockdown Tournament.
U.K. IKO MATSUSHIMA branch was represented at this event by two fighters: Senpai Krzysztof Wasilewski 2nd dan and Martin Pugh 5th kyu. Martin fought well but lost on judges’ decision after extension to the second place getter in his category.
Krzysztof fought very well from the very beginning. He was able to show his powerful high kicks and his flexibility as well as good mental preparation and strong stamina.
I’m very proud to report that senpai Krzysztof Wasilewski of UK, IKO Matsushima Branch is 2015 heavy weight English knock down champion.

This past weekend the Seattle Kyokushin Dojo hosted the annual Kyokushin Challenge Knockdown and Kata tournament, in partnership with Ellensburg Kyokushin and Eastside Kyokushin dojo’s in Washington State. Shihan Klaus Rex and Sensei Orla Hansen were our guest’s of honor and conducted a seminar with the dojo’s of Washington. There were 66 knockdown fighters and 35 kata particapants from all over the USA and Canada.

There was IKO Matsushima Open Championship of North-West federal district on the 15-th of March which joined 220 sportsmen from Saint-Petersburg, Leningrad region, Pskov region, Moscow, Moscow region, Ivanovo, Kostroma, Naro-Fominsk, Estonia.

Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate championship among juniors and juveniles was held in Lutsk on March 21st, 2015. It’s the 10th tournament, organized by Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation since 2006, so this competition has already become traditional.
Lutsk welcomed 18 clubs from 10 regions of Ukraine. Almost 240 best fighters competed in 25 categories to get prestigious title “Ukraine Champion”. Main judge of the competition was head of board of Ukrainian Kyokushinkaikan Karate Federation, branch chief Shihan Dmytro Volynets (5th dan).

Shodan shinsa at Karate Syd IF, Lund, Sweden was held on 13th,14th Mar.2015
March 13-14, Karate Syd arranged the first Shodan graduation in the 6 years history of the club. After years of dedicated training, three candidates from Karate Syd; senpai Zoltan Lengyel, senpai Björn Pålsson and senpai Jakob Willforss, fighted during two days to deserve to wear the black belt.
The graduation ended with Jiyu Kumite of 80 ×1 minute duration. For the kumite session instructors and students from other dojo’s in Sweden joined as sparring partners. All three candidates performed very well during the graduation and we are very proud to announce our three new Yudansha in Karate Syd.

International Open Kyokushin Karate Tournament ‘’12th Domenica Cup’’ was held in Samobor on March 7, 2015 in organization of Croatian Kyokushinkai Association and hosting by IKO Matsushima Kyokushinkaikan Croatia and Kyokushin Karate Club ‘‘Domenica’’ Sveta Nedelja.
The main sponsor of the tournament was the Prefect of the Zagreb County mr.sc. Stjepan Kožić.
